Description: Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes
and the Youth Ministry currently operate in concert with each other. The activities of the Youth ministry tend to
be more apparent after Convention in the spring until about November 1 in the
fall, when work on the Lads to Leaders events pick up in earnest. The reason for the two separate ministries is
to insure that services to our young people continue (1) during the time of the
year when typically interest in LTL Convention events is low (2) in the
unlikely event that our congregation might ever find it advisable to secede from
the Lads to Leaders/Leaderettes National organization
at some point in the future.
The Lads to Leaders
ministry seeks to equip our young people for leadership in Christ through Bible
reading, Bible Bowl, Art Says It, speech, song leading/songs of praise,
puppetry, debate, Centurion of Scripture, mass media, Good Samaritan, Parade of
Winners, G.U.A.R. D., G.I.F.T.S., and the Jonathan Bourland
event. The last five events can easily
be woven into the slack time of the year when other LTL events are not usually
going on.
